Resistor Color Code Practice
Read the stripes. Build the answer. Ten questions at your own pace, with a little help whenever you need it.
QUESTION 1 OF 10
NO RUSH. JUST PRACTICE.What do these bands tell you?
Ten questions. More understanding.
Try the other question type, explore five bands, or use the calculator to investigate a value you found tricky.

Digits first. Multiplier next. Tolerance last.
A four-band resistor has two significant digits. A five-band resistor has three. Join those digits, multiply by the multiplier band, then read the tolerance. Gold and silver multipliers make smaller values: ×0.1 and ×0.01.
33 × 10 = 330 Ω ±5%
You can answer using Ω, kΩ, or MΩ: 1 kΩ = 1,000 Ω and 1 MΩ = 1,000,000 Ω. Color names appear below each drawing so the quiz does not depend on distinguishing shades.
Questions use valid four- and five-band codes, including a range of tolerance bands. They are practice examples rather than a catalog of stocked components.
